Hockey Canada has updated their registration system to Hockey Canada Registration System 3.0 (HCR 3.0).  All registrants will need to set up a new username and password as previous HCR logins will not work with the new system.

Please review the video links below for instructions on how to create your new HCR account and register based on whether you are registering a new participant (new to hockey in Canada), or a returning participant/registering multiple players from a family.

Click here to view instructional videos on HCR 3.0

Once you have watched the video, click the appropriate registration option below.

Select this option if you played for the Durham Crusaders last year.

Choose this option if you played with a Hockey organization other than the Durham Crusaders last season.

Choose this option if the division you would like to register with is currently listed as Full in HCR. After tryouts are completed we expect some positions will become available, the positions will be filled from the waitlist on a first come, first served basis.

Click this button if you are new to hockey, and this is your first time playing with a team registered with Hockey Canada. A copy of the players Birth Certificate MUST be provided. The Association you are joining is "Durham"

First time user help documents:

1. If you have completed the Respect in Sport Parent course for another child who plays hockey, you can skip to page 5 of the document and follow the instructions starting after "Adding a Child to and Existing Parent Program Certificate."  Once you complete these steps, an HCR (Hockey Canada Registration) number will be generated for your player and you can then register through our website using that number.

2.  If you have never registered a player for hockey before and have never completed the Respect in Sport Parent Course, you can follow steps 1-8 starting on page 1 and use the HCR number that is generated to register through our website.

*Please note that our governing body, the OMHA (Ontario Minor Hockey Association) requires one parent per player to complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program (cost is $12)  before their child is eligible to play hockey

If you experience difficulty with registration, please contact our registrar, Liana Harrison at [email protected]

If you are registering for a division that is full, your name will be recorded on a waiting list and players will be placed on a team as spaces become available on a first-come, first-served basis.  (Wait list form will be made available when required)

No player may participate in any team activity until he or she is registered with the Association.  Registration is not complete until all current and outstanding fees from previous seasons have been paid (including any outstanding fees for members of the same family).

Respect In Sport

At least one parent from each family must complete the Parent Respect in Sport online course.   Please note any player whose parent has not completed the course will not be assigned to a team.

Registration fees can be made online through the Hockey Canada Registration system using credit card or via e-transfer to our league treasurer at [email protected]Please note the player’s full name in your e-transfer.  Registration will not be considered complete and a spot will not be reserved for the player until payment has been received.

Please note that false residency claims and claims that cannot be substantiated for representative players will result in forfeiture of full registration fees.

Placement Requests

Although we do our best to honour requests made for players to be on the same team, this is not something that we can guarantee as we are committed to putting together balanced teams to ensure that all players on our LL teams (and the Three County League that we play in) have the best possible experience.

The Durham Crusaders provide the opportunity for representative hockey as well as local league hockey.

The Local League (LL) program is intended to offer players the opportunity to play recreational, non-contact hockey at a level that is higher than house league hockey and includes more ice time than average house league programs.  The Durham Crusaders LL program is open to Whitby residents as well as  players from the surrounding communities.  There are no tryouts and all players are welcome.  Each player is assigned a team in the appropriate age division with home games and practices scheduled weekly as well as away games within the Three County League.  We aim to have players on the ice in September and the season will end mid-late March.

Representative Tryouts

**A specific tryout schedule for Crusaders Rep. teams will be posted mid-late August.

The OHF has determined all representative tryouts will take place in the fall (September) of 2021.

The 2021-22 OHF seasonal calendar for minor hockey was built on the following principles:

· No on-ice activity be permitted until the Tuesday following Labour Day

· U12 and above Minor Hockey tryouts will not begin before the first Friday following Labour Day

· U11 tryouts may begin on or after September 13th, and must adhere to Playing Regulation G4

· Tournaments permitted to start no earlier than October 8th

· All Minor Hockey teams must be engaged in meaningful hockey until March 1st, 2022
