** We have temporarily closed our online Registration and Wait List registrations.

At the moment we have more players than we can accommodate for U11, U15 and U18 age groups.

If you are interested in signing up for U7 or U11 please email our registrar at [email protected]

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our U8 & U9 programs.  If you are in this age group and are looking to learn how to skate and the basics of hockey, feel free to sign up for the U7 program.

If you are new to hockey, an HCR number is required.  If you do not have an HCR # please contact Durham Crusaders registrar, Liana Harrison: [email protected],  for information on how to obtain an HCR #.

No player may participate in any team activity until he or she is registered with the Association.  Registration is not complete until all current and outstanding fees from previous seasons have been paid (including any outstanding fees for members of the same family).

Respect In Sport

At least one parent from each family must complete the Parent Respect in Sport online course.   Please note any player whose parent has not completed the course will not be assigned to a team.

Payments

Registration fees can be made online through the Hockey Canada Registration system using credit card or via e-transfer to our league treasurer at [email protected]Please note the player’s full name in your e-transfer.  Registration will not be considered complete and a spot will not be reserved for the player until payment has been received.

Residency

Please note that false residency claims and claims that cannot be substantiated for representative players will result in forfeiture of full registration fees.

Placement Requests

Although we do our best to honor requests made for players to be on the same team, this is not something that we can guarantee as we are committed to putting together balanced teams to ensure that all players on our LL teams (and the Three County League that we play in) have the best possible experience.

The Durham Crusaders provide the opportunity for representative hockey as well as local league hockey.

LOCAL LEAGUE HOCKEY DETAILS:

The Local League (LL) program is intended to offer players the opportunity to play recreational, non-contact hockey at a level that is higher than house league hockey and includes more ice time than average house league programs.  The Durham Crusaders LL program is open to Whitby residents as well as  players from the surrounding communities.  There are no tryouts and all players are welcome.  Each player is assigned a team in the appropriate age division with home games and practices scheduled weekly as well as away games within the Three County League.  We aim to have players on the ice in September and the season will end mid-late March.

REPRESENTATIVE (COMPETITIVE) DETAILS

Representative Tryouts

**A specific tryout schedule for Crusaders Rep. teams will be posted in the Fall for U11, U13, U18 and U21.
U15 tryouts are scheduled for May, see the main page of the Crusaders' website for details www.durhamcrusaders.ca

The OHF seasonal calendar for minor hockey was built on the following principles:

· No on-ice activity be permitted until the Tuesday following Labour Day

· U12 and above Minor Hockey tryouts will not begin before the first Friday following Labour Day

· Tournaments permitted to start no earlier than October 8th

· All Minor Hockey teams must be engaged in meaningful hockey until March 31st, 2025
