Tournament 1 - Millbrook Halloween Haunt
The Durham Crusaders U11 LL team had their first tournament of the year this past weekend at the Millbrook Halloween Haunt.

Game 1 - Friday 12pm vs Millbrook (Green) Stars

Your Durham Crusaders came ready to play racking up a convincing 11-2 win versus the Stars.

Game 2 - Saturday 8am vs Lindsay (Teal) Muskies

The boys were gaining confidence and by the time the buzzer finally rang the final score was 7-4.

Game 3 - Saturday 4pm vs Manvers (Black) Mustangs

Keeping the boys focused on this final game of the day was pretty easy but they were also looking to advancing to the semis by locking in the 1st or 2nd seed. This game saw both teams a little tired from the long day, but your Durham Crusaders won 8-3 clinching 1st place and setting up a rematch on Sunday vs the Mustangs.

Game 4 - Sunday 9am vs Manvers (Black) Mustangs

The nerves were high but so was the excitement as the boys were trying to advance to the finals. The game was intense as Manvers jumped ahead with an early 3-1 lead.  The boys battled hard and the 3rd period ended with a 4-4 tie. A 5 minute overtime period of 3on3 saw lots of great chances, but the goalies on both sides were exceptional. The game moved on to a shootout and Mason B scored the winning goal while Dylan saved all three shots he faced sending the Crusaders to the finals.

Game 5 - Sunday 1pm vs Manvers (Red) Mustangs

The stands were full as family and friends cheered on the boys in the finals of their first tournament of the year.  They responded by jumping out to an early 3-0 lead in the first period.  Manvers Red kept fighting and scored a goal in the third to bring the game within two, but the Durham Crusaders prevailed with a final score of 4-1 and winning the Millbrook Halloween Haunt tournament.  Shout out to JP for great play in net!

The Best Sportsmanship award for the weekend went to Mason B!

Congratulations and well done Crusaders!

Can’t wait for tournament #2 in December!
